Tire Manufacturer Protects Microsoft 365 Data with NAKIVO

Camel Tire is a leading producer and distributor of outer tires and inner tubes for motorcycles and bicycles in Thailand. Camel Tire exports to neighboring countries and other regions, including Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

Camel Tire’s infrastructure is virtualized on VMware and includes around 25 virtual machines. The VMs store Microsoft Active Directory and other business applications and databases. Backup and recovery procedures are extremely important for the company to guarantee the survival of the business in the event of a disaster. Camel Tire also needs to comply with various compliance and government rules when it comes to data protection.

Previously, Camel Tire created backup shadow copies and moved their data to external storage. However, those backup shadow copies were not recoverable in most cases. The increasing demand of their IT infrastructure also increased the criticality of how Camel Tire protected their data. Moving the infrastructure to the external cloud did not guarantee data protection. That is why a VM backup solution needed to be deployed by the Camel Tire.

Camel Tire chose NAKIVO Backup & Replication due to the variety of options to manage backups and storage as well as the affordable licensing costs. “The solution is easy to install and configure. “Backing up VMs is fast. Depending on the VM size and traffic congestion at the time, it usually takes two to three hours to complete. The ability to replicate VMs to different target hosts is an awesome feature,” says Weerwat.“Replicating the whole VMs and keeping them on standby is great for our business.”

“We have Microsoft 365 user accounts that need to be backed up. Recovery is fast since we do not need to perform a full recovery of an entire user account and just choose a recovery point and the item we need. Moreover, the whole administration process is quite simple from the web interface,” says Weerawat.

“With NAKIVO Backup & Replication, we can now replicate our VMs to different hosts and back up and recover Microsoft 365 data. Previously, we were able to protect the data inside the VM, but not the entire VM itself. Now, we can perform different backups, including backup to cloud.
