Advanced Backup Copy

Use NAKIVO Backup & Replication to create several copies of primary backups to ensure that critical data can be recovered after any failure. Backup copies are created from primary backups with no impact on production machines. Store backup copies on secondary backup repositories deployed offsite or in a public cloud to strengthen data protection and avoid a single point of failure.

Multiple Backup Copy Options

Choose what data you want to copy and where:

All backups: Create a mirrored copy of your primary backup repository and automatically keep your secondary repository up to date with all backups and recovery points. You can also set different retention policies for your primary backups and their copies.
Specific backups: Create copies of specific backups or choose the recovery points you want to copy to the secondary repository.
Critical backups: Copy only the backups containing critical data for business continuity and services uptime to save storage space and speed up data transfer.

Automated Backup Copy Workflows

Policy-based data protection allows you to reduce manual work by automating backup copy. Set up policies to copy backups based on specific criteria. New backups that fit the selected criteria are automatically copied. Use Job Chaining to create workflows and avoid retention gaps by linking backup copies to start when a backup is completed.

Backup Copies Offsite and to Cloud

While you can store the primary backup locally on the same site as the production machines for quick access in case of data loss, send backup copies offsite (to tape, NAS or other detachable storage) or to a public cloud (Amazon S3, Wasabi, Backblaze B2 or Azure Blob). By tiering your backups, you save costs on long-term data storage and avoid a single point of failure by applying the 3-2-1 backup rule.
